This post is throwback to the subject event I attended on November 2, 2016 at Mall of Emirates.

One of the best things about living in UAE is you can visit SEPHORA (the makeup heaven) any day you want. Being a woman (read girl, that’s more like it lol), makeup is one of my loves. As a result of which I ended up subscribing for ‘White’ loyalty card from Sephora, which soon was upgraded to ‘Black’ with quite a lot of purchases (yes, I spent a lot. Ask my husband HI :p). I am now entitled to their exclusive event invites after that ‘promotion’. That is how I got the invite in case you are wondering how I got one.

When I don’t have much time to get ready, lipsticks (and Kajal/kohl too) come to the rescue to save my looks, this was one of the reasons I was looking forward to attend the event. I was sceptical about taking E baby with me since it was a working day and I can’t leave her with HI.

Anyways coming back to the event, It was all about lipsticks – matte, liquid, melted, stains etc etc. After registration, I was given a card to visit the listed beauty kiosks and get it stamped by checking out their lips related products. Beauty assistants deployed at the stalls were helping the guests with application of the products as well. I asked one to experiment a wild look with the darkest possible shade on me and she did a terrific job. I was not dressed up for that though. So, after some clicks I removed it and switched back to pink (the safe option).

As soon as my card was stamped from all booths, I headed towards the ‘Personalised Mirror’ section and WOW, the girl at the counter was making small customised mirrors with your lip swatches. I got mine done within no time. Posed in front of Sephora kaleido lips backdrop and got the hard copy of my picture right away. I also got a goodie bag (shown below) with tiny lipsticks and testers as a giveaway from the participating brands. I will post a complete review with comparison about each one of them soon.

The event was very well organised, some beauty assistants were not clear about the stamping process in the beginning but it was sorted out once the matter was discussed with the supervisors. Refreshments and cookies were being served frequently to the visitors. I thoroughly enjoyed my time over there, 2 hours went by in a blink. E also loved being there with me, she pouted for the pictures (I so love her pout :*). It was a good escape from a normal-week-day-routine-life.
