Fancy simple good food by a waterfall in cosy environment listening to musical sound of water toppling down like a syrup, all this in dubai? Head to Circle Cafe located right next to The Waterfall in Dubai Mall. Being world’s largest shopping arena, the mall is always buzzing with loads of happenings all around but the restaurant is situated in a relatively quiet and peaceful zone which adds to the pleasant atmosphere of the eatery.
ABOUT CIRCLE:
The restaurant was founded back in 2003 by Dubai Moms, Mira and Rama with the intent of bringing taste of New York’s authentic bagel in Dubai. Since then they have been redesigning their menu to include freshly tossed salads, homemade sandwiches, filling super bowls, divine desserts and much more. Currently, there are a total of 13 branches of Circle cafe all over UAE. We chose to visit them at Dubai Mall partly because it is nearby our home and mainly because of the above stated obvious reasons.
THE EXPERIENCE:
We took a table right in the center to enjoy every bit of detail the restaurant offers. The place has a calm, relaxing and scintillating ambiance with vivid lights, radiant indoors, irresistible book shelves and roses on tables. However, the tables are positioned a little close to each other and the luminous setting may cast shadows which can cause possible hindrance in taking some very good pictures of yourself and the food. But I loved the sofa placed near the edge of waterfall that emanated homey and comfy vibes all the way.
MENU & HOSPITALITY:
At a glance,their menu card seemed limited to me but as ‘good things come in small packages‘, upon skimming I found a wide variety of items not only for Breakfast but salads, burgers, varied Main courses and desserts as well. I noticed they offer quite different and unconventional dishes as compared to other restaurants. You can have a look at their menu here.
The waiting staff was courteous and friendly, we were welcomed by Vennazer who helped us with her precise gender-wise recommendations about the dishes. Yes, we were amazed to find out that she suggested us the same items we had in mind. I was impressed mannn! Anil – our server, made sure that everything we are being served is up to the mark. On top of that, they won my heart with their upbeat kid-friendly attitude. Vennazer presented a sheet and colors to E as soon as she was settled on her high-chair, she also held and played with E afterwards. I truly felt relaxed while sipping my green tea in that frame of time.
THE FOOD:
Lets talk food now, we ordered Mexican Chicken Salad as starters which shortly made it’s way to our table followed by drinks. E’s Sweet Potato Zaatar Fries were served at the same time as well, I am so glad we tried those. They were too good – look, taste, sauce, everything was yum about them.
We really liked the salad, It looked mouth watering and tasted even better. The texture was well balanced with dijonette dressing, it was all the shades of creamy, soft and crunchy with colorful juicy veggie ingredients and chicken grilled to perfection.
Our beverages were Mint Mojito – which was just like usual minty drinks and Immune Boost – a tangy and healthy alternative for sure.
Next in line were the Main courses of course. Our order consisted of Chicken with Walnut Sauce and Portuguese Chicken. Chicken with Walnut Sauce was just fine for me, it was little bland and the side of spiced quinoa did not spice up my taste buds (probably because I prefer a little more spice than usual) though the chicken was cooked perfectly. It can be a good option for people who like to eat mild spicy food.
Portuguese Chicken with peri peri sauce and fries on the other hand was hot and tasty, exactly the way we like our food. Despite of the fact that it was flattened, it was not chewy or rubbery at all. The chef did a superb job there without any doubt.
After doing justice to our Mains we really wanted to try out their famous Carrot cake but it was finished by then so we settled for 4 Layer Chocolate Cake instead and mannnn, it was super delish – light, moist, soft and smooth with velvety chocolate cream cheese frosting. Truly scrumptious! (my mouth is watering as I am writing about it… lol)
In the end we opted to have some Green Tea to burn those extra calories we just gulped down. Vennazer showed us the available options out of which we picked Jasmine Princess and Rooibos Orange after smelling various flavors, both of which turned out to be one more hit off their menu.
CONCLUSION & RECOMMENDATIONS:
We had a wonderful time at Circle cafe without being affected by the hustle bustle of Dubai Mall in which the branch we dined is located. We had a quiet and peaceful dinner by the waterfall, the food quality was up to the mark, everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. Waiting staff was attentive, deferential and kid friendly (that is where they won it for me); you can surely ask them for recommendations in case you are in a fix about your order. They serve good portion sizes in prices that are not too heavy on your pocket.
Portuguese Chicken, Mexican Chicken Salad, Sweet Potato Zaatar Fries and 4 layer Chocolate cake are definitely worth trying and if you are health conscious than you should go for their Immune Boost drink and Green teas too.
The place is perfect to have a fresh start of the day with their breakfast or for a nice quiet dinner with your loved ones. And if not any of these then you should consider stopping by for a cup of tea/ coffee and taste their divine desserts, trust me it is definitely worth it.
